SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster RRR is playing in theaters in Japan. The Ram Charan and Jr. NTR starrer put on a huge international collection 1144 crores Total in their theater run. Not only that, but the love and appreciation it is getting from Western audiences, filmmakers and media is beyond expectations. People present raised slogans, demanded special screening and what not. Considering that kind of hype, the movie doesn’t really live up to its brand in Japan.

According to a report by TrackTollywood.com, RRR grossed Rs 5 crores (in INR) at the Japanese box office in the first week. Yes, it’s a good collection but as we said above, it doesn’t match the quality of the film. In fact, in the run of life, the film may fail to outpace Prabhas’ Saaho.12.50 crores) and SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 (16 crores).

Meanwhile, during his promotional spree in Japan to promote RRR, Ram Charan gave a heartwarming speech to an auditorium packed with Japanese fans. Ram talked about how much he appreciates the love and support of the Japanese fans and how he feels at home. “You guys are so hot I feel like we are in India. I wish that every actor in the world experiences love and warmth,” he said.
