Directed by Pushkar-Gayathri, the film is a Hindi remake of their own hit 2017 Tamil film of the same name. It featured R Madhavan as a police officer (played by Saif in the remake) and Vijay Sethupathi as a gangster (played by Hrithik Roshan in the remake). The story of Vikram Veeda is full of twists and turns, as tough police officer Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) sets out to track and chase down the dreaded gangster Veeda (Hrithik Roshan). What ensues is a cat-and-mouse chase, where Vida – a master storyteller – helps Vikram backtrack through a series of stories that create moral ambiguities.
The film received mostly positive reviews. The Hindustan Times review of the film reads: “Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan shine off each other in a fun—if somewhat sanitized—remake of the Tamil cult classic action thriller.
