Security forces recovered eight IEDs in Chaibasa | Techno Glob

Chaibasa (Jharkhand) [India]November 2 (ANI): Chaibasa Police along with CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) and Jharkhand Jaguar recovered eight IEDs from Tonto Police Station area in a joint operation, police said.
“Each of these IEDs weighs around 2 kg. These were planted by Naxalites to harm police forces and civilians. These IEDs were destroyed/defused on the spot,” Chaibasa Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said.
A joint operation was launched on information that CPI-Maoist militants had planted IED bombs, revealing plans to harm security forces.

“A joint team of Chaibasa Police Cobra 209 Battalion Jharkhand Jaguar and CRPF’s 174 Battalion launched a search-and-combing operation. During a search operation at the foot of the hill north-west of Rengda, eight IEDs planted in series were recovered and destroyed,” he added.
Earlier on October 20, security forces had seized a pipe IED (Improvised Explosive Device) weighing around 10 kg in Antagarh-Tekpani village under Koyalibeda police station limits in Kanker district.
Antagarh SDOP Amar Sidar said that the personnel present at the spot defused the pipe bomb.
“A team of DRG was patrolling Koyalibeda police station limits, meanwhile, they got information that Naxalites have planted an IED in the forest area of ‚Äč‚ÄčTekapar village with the intention of harming the security forces,” officials said.
Acting on information, a team rushed to the spot and searched the area and found a pipe IED planted by Naxalites and destroyed it on the spot, officials said. (ANI)
