Security cameras captured the exact moment a Toronto bike thief realized he’d been busted | Techno Glob

A popular Toronto retail store known for its wide selection of high-end bicycles, bike accessories, apparel and the like is worth nearly $30,000 after an early-morning robbery that had a bit of a comedic twist (or make up for it if the business is capable).

D’Ornellas Bike Shop in Scarborough put out a plea on Facebook this weekend for help tracking down a man they say broke in and stole some expensive merchandise.

“At 5:45 this morning this individual entered our store and stole three bikes,” the business wrote Sunday evening.

We have photo and video evidence. A complaint has been lodged with the police. Someone somewhere knows who he is. If that’s you, please get in touch, as any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.”

Two photos collected by the store’s security system were included with the Facebook post, one in color showing the suspect wearing a black coat, black hat and blue jeans.

The second photo is black and white and shows the alleged thief saying “oh sh*t” when he sees the camera.

D’Ornellas is asking anyone who recognizes the man to contact them or Toronto police with information, and for good reason: The crook may have only stolen three bikes, but they were very expensive bikes that an independent business wanted back.

The missing goods are listed as follows:

  • A “Specialized Turbo Levo SL Size Large” with a value of . $10,999
  • A “Specialized Epic Comp Size Large” with a value of $6,149.
  • A “Felt IA Disc UDI2 Size 54cm” with a value of $10,999.

The later bikes don’t have brake levers, which should make them a bit more recognizable to people who know what brake levers look like.
