Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara is the latest addition to the ever-growing list of original Sandalwood hits at the box office. After KGF Chapter 2 and 777 Charlie, this movie has earned some huge profits. Globally, it has crossed the first major milestone of 100 crores. Keep reading to know more.
Originally released in Kannada, the film was later dubbed in Telugu. Yesterday, its Hindi version hit the theatres. Today, the movie is released in Tamil language. So technically, it has now become a proper pan-India film. With the kind of appreciation it has received so far, this thriller will be raking in huge numbers from now on, with multiple versions running in theatres.
Talking about the latest update on the world collection, Kantara has scored a century in just 15 days. The film has also been made in India 79.30 crores nett (all languages) so far, that is 93.57 crores In total. to include 8.90 crores Overall from overseas, the overall global numbers stand out 102.47 crores Total and it’s great!

Meanwhile, outside the box office world, Kantara has broken the record of Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 and become the highest rated Indian film on IMDB. According to IMDB, the film has a rating of 9.5/10. KGF 2 was rated 8.4 and RRR was 8.0.
Set and filmed in Keradi in coastal Karnataka, Kantara stars Rishabh Shetty, Murali, Achiveth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda in pivotal roles. It was released on September 30.
