In the race to launch 5G services for millions of smartphones and internet users, Reliance Jio 5G services may be launched on August 15.



Earlier this week, Akash AmbaniChairman, Reliance Jio Infocommsaid they would celebrateAzadi ka Amrit Mahotsav‘ with a pan-India 5G rollout.

“Jio is committed to providing world-class, affordable 5G and 5G-enabled services. We offer services, platforms and solutions that accelerate Indiadigital revolution, especially in important sectors such as education, health careagriculture, manufacturing and e-governance,” he emphasized after emerging as the leader in the 5G spectrum auction, including the expensive 700 MHz band.

The initiative is to celebrate and commemorate the 75th anniversary of independence and the nation’s history, culture and achievements.

The official tour of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ began on March 12, 2021, marking the 75-week countdown to our 75th independence anniversary, and will end on August 15, the day India’s 5G rollout is likely to be announced.

According to the company, “Jio is fully poised to deploy 5G in a short period of time due to its nationwide fiber, all-IP network with no legacy infrastructure, local 5G stack and strong global partnerships across the technology ecosystem.”

Jio says its 5G network will enable the next generation of digital solutions that will accelerate India’s transformation into a $5 trillion economy.

“The speed, scale and societal impact of Jio’s 4G rollout is unmatched anywhere in the world. Now with great ambition and strong determination, Jio will lead India’s journey into the 5G era,” said Akash Ambani.

According to the Nomura report, the 700 MHz band could give Reliance Jio an “advantage in terms of network quality, especially indoors, and this will raise investor concerns about further spectrum releases for Bharti if R-Jio can offer significant differentiation. Network quality with 5G in the 700 band (vs. Bharti).
