Kohima, October 16 (MExN). Along with the rest of the country, ICICI Bank today announced the launch of a Digital Banking Unit (DBU) at Dr Neilhouzil Kire Complex in Kohima.
It is part of the 75 DBUs in various districts inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das to mark India’s 75th year of independence.
In Kohima Nagaland’s lone Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) S Phangnon Konyak attended the inauguration of the Bank’s DBU in Kohima.
According to an ICICI Bank statement; The DBU consists of two areas — the Self Service Zone and the Digital Help Zone.
An ATM machine in the Self-service Zone; Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) and Multi-Functional Kiosk (MFK) services, passbook printing, It offers a range of services, including check depositing and internet banking.
The kiosk offers all the services available on iMobile Pay, ICICI Bank’s mobile banking app, it said.
The Self-service Zone operates 24×7 and offers a digital interactive interface where customers can interact with the chatbot as well as find product offers and mandatory alerts.
In the digital help zone; The statement said that the branch officials helped the customers to make monetary and non-monetary transactions.
These include opening a savings account; Current account opening; fixed deposit and recurring deposit; home loan car loan Applying for personal loans and credit cards.
These services are offered completely digitally through a tablet device using Aadhaar based eKYC.
Branch officials will allow customers to download the mobile banking application and start using the internet banking system, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on the first of the month. It will be open on the third and fifth Saturdays.
Speaking on the new development, Rakesh Jha, Executive Director (Designate) at ICICI Bank said, “It is like a digital branch where customers can do banking in a completely digital way at their convenience. They can also seek guidance from banking services experts at these units.”
The behavior of customers in bank branches has changed and they are now dealing with complex transactions, They are increasingly eager to get advice and guidance on loans and investments, and want to perform simple transactions themselves on digital channels such as the internet and mobile banking, he said.
“We designed DBU to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Jha.
In addition to providing banking services; DBU in Kohima Secure Banking; A digital literacy program will be conducted regularly to spread awareness about digital banking and cyber security.
Apart from Kohima, ICICI Bank in Tamil Nadu; Three more DBUs were established on October 16 at Karur in Puducherry and Dehradun.
ICICI Bank is one of the leading private sector banks in India with total assets of Rs 14,15,581 crore as on June 30, 2022, the release said.
