“Savage” is out for blood.
The Zach Cregger helmed slasher-in-an-Airbnb thriller earned $3.9 million in its debut Friday — the top draw at the box office that handily topped summer blockbusters still playing in more theaters, according to BoxOffice Mojo .
According to Variety, it is projected to earn $9 million this weekend.
In second place, earning $2 million in its debut, was the Hindi-language action flick “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.”
In third place was Brad Pitt’s “Bullet Train,” with a ticket price of $865,000. The action flick has earned $90 million in domestic sales and $109.5 million in international theaters.
Kirk Cameron’s “Lifemark” came in a surprising fourth place with sales of $855,466.
The year’s biggest hit, “Top Gun: Maverick,” took fifth place. $845,000. The Tom Cruise-led sequel has now earned $703.3 million domestically and another $740.4 million internationally.
