One of the most awaited movies “Avatar: The Way of Water” or “Avatar 2” will hit the cinemas around the world in mid-December. Epic sci-fi no doubt has a huge buzz around it. It is a sequel to the highest grossing film Avatar (2009).

Avatar 2 Budget and Advance Booking
There is a great curiosity among fans about James Cameron’s exit. On online ticket booking site Bookmyshow, more than 1 lakh people have shown interest to watch the film, surprisingly, the film is still more than half a month away from hitting the screens.
It has been made on a budget of $250M (INR 2067 crore approx), and pre-bookings for it are still open in India.

Avatar was re-released in September to much fanfare among cinephiles, from India it grossed over 6 crores in its opening weekend, taking Avatar’s total close to 110 crores.
As we know that South India is a huge market for Hollywood releases in India, recent reports suggest that the pre-release business of Avatar 2 is 100 crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) and 50 crores in Kerala alone. .
It is an event film and is expected to occupy 2500-3000 screens in India compared to other Hollywood event films like Doctor Strange 2, and Thor: 4, which have released over 2500 screens here.

Released in May 2022, Doctor Strange 2 had the 4th highest opening time in India for a Hollywood film. And now buzzing around Avatar 2 among Indian audiences, James Cameron’s film will be a strong contender in the list of top opening day grosses of all time.
