Army commanders to discuss ‘Make in India’, security scenario in defense sector next week | Techno Glob

All senior officers of the Indian Army will gather in the national capital next week to review the security situation along the border.
Top Army officers led by General Manoj Pandey will be part of the Army Commanders Conference starting Monday where they will discuss all aspects related to security and operational preparedness, Army officials said. The conference will be held for the first time after the resolution of the differences between the Indian and Chinese armies over the four points of friction that arose after the May 2020 aggression by the Chinese military.
The conference is expected to explore new avenues to promote Make in India in the defense sector to develop more indigenous weapon systems for the military.
General Pandey is a strong supporter of indigenization and has asked officials concerned with modernization to join hands with Indian private and public sector companies to develop world-class weapons.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan are expected to address the meeting.
The meeting will also involve interaction with other services which will help in enhancing the synergy between the forces.
The meeting is also likely to discuss steps towards the creation of a theater command. (ANI)
