OpenSignal, a global provider of independent insights on converged, wireless and broadband operators, named Airtel the “outright” winner in Video Experience, Games Experience and Voice App Experience in its latest Mobile Network Experience report.
The report also named the company the winner in the Best Download Speed Experience category, with an average user of -13.6 Mbps, 0.3-0.6 Mbps faster than the competition and almost 10.6 Mbps faster than BSNL.
OpenSignal came to its conclusion after evaluating the mobile network experience of consumers of four major mobile operators in India for a period of 90 days from June 1, 2022, to August 29, 2022, nationally, as well as the performance of 22 telecom circles.
Airtel has the upper hand when it comes to quality of experience (QoE) across Indian mobile networks. Our Airtel users have enjoyed the best experience while streaming videos, playing multiplayer mobile games or using over-the-top (OTT) voice services over mobile networks,” the statement said.
Reliance Jio won all the three awards in the coverage category. It is once again a “straightforward” winner of the Accessibility and 4G Availability Awards. “Our Indian users were able to spend the highest amount of time (99.4%) connected to mobile broadband services on Jio’s 4G network,” the report said. Jio also won the 4G Coverage Experience Award as Jio users were connected to 4G network in the highest number of destinations visited by Indian users — 95 out of 100 locations.
